Summary Harry is a writer and marries with a rich wife, Helen. Their truck breaks down when they are on safari in Africa. Harry’s knee is scratched by a thorn while he takes pictures. Gangrene makes Harry’s leg more uncomfortable. He feels angry and quarrels with her wife. He says lots of words to shame her, but her wife does not stop cheering him. He starts to think about what he knows in his life. He wants to write a book about his experiences, but now, he would not do it anymore. He thinks about his lovers, people he meets and places he visits. While he takes a rest, his wife shoots a ram. He feels that he was dying, but Helen tells him not to give up. When Harry take on the rescue plane and the plane tries to cross the mountain Kilimanjaro, he sees the beautiful view. This is pity that the plane and the view are his dreams. Helen finds her husband dies in sleeping. Outside the tent, a hyena makes a noise like a person crying.
